Unnamed yearling
- By Kingman out of Marsha
This beautifully-bred yearling is out of a mare called Marsha, who racefans will remember as an outstanding sprinter, winning and being placed many times at Group level, with the pinnacle being her win in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York in 2017.

She is a great character and likes to keep us on our toes. She is not naughty, but can be a handful and I think it’s a good sign that she has a bit of fire in her belly. She continues to grow, as you can see in this photo compared with how she looked at the beginning of this month when we bought her.

The plan
- Based on her breeding we’d expect her to excel over 6f to 1 mile.
- She’s now in pre-training at Andrew Balding’s Park House Stables for the winter. Watch our video on what pre-training involves.
- Her father Kingman raced in June as a 2yo, but Marsha was a later developer. Based on this we’d expect this yearling to be more likely to run towards the middle-to-end of the 2023 season.
- She’s a long-term, very exciting prospect and she has the residual value of being a broodmare prospect in the future.
